Cannes jury to be chaired by Italy's MorettiPosted by: Jason Korsner on 2012-01-20 The Italian director and actor Nanni Moretti is to chair the jury at this year's Cannes Film Festival. He said it was a real joy, an honour and a tremendous responsibility to preside over the jury of the most prestigious film festival in the world. Moretti has won the festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or, with The Son's Room, in 2001, and he's had a total of six films in competition, including last year's We Have a Pope. A festival spokesman, Thierry Frémaux, praised the intelligence and modernity of Moretti, who often stars in his own films. His films are "the incarnation of all the best in cinema over the past thirty years," said Frémaux. Related Items
